go Gozo... dive blue
Only about 3 hours by plane you will find a diving destination that is getting more and more popular: Gozo, the small neighbouring island of Malta.
Gozo is easy to grasp, a “small” yellow limestone rock reaching up to 176 m out of the sea. The rugged coastlines with many sheer cliffs that drop vertically from 160 m to almost 40 m below sea level are the main characteristics of this 15 km by 7 km island. Diving at its best!
Though not as colourful as the Red Sea, and perhaps not as rich in species as other parts of the Mediterranean, Gozo’s underwater landscape is spectacular and the waters surrounding the island are of the most beautiful blue that I have ever seen. Gozo has a number of scenic dive sites that lie closely together, far away from the bustling tourism, which is ever present on the main island.
Gozo is a popular and cheap holiday destination, in particular for experienced divers that wish to dive independently. But also beginners can start here the “adventure of diving”. Ten dive shops are operating on the island that adequately cater for all diving requirements, with various packages and offers. Besides the diving there are many of possibilities to satisfy culture interest or “only” enjoy the mediterrenean lifestyle....
